Well now you know! If you are just starting off with your Instant Pot, this is one of the easiest things you can make in your pot! Then just freeze whatever meat you don’t use, and you are set!

The only thing is, I cooked meat that was frozen. That way it was able to stay on the trivet without falling through the cracks and no, I haven’t cooked it with thawed meat yet!

HOW TO COOKE GROUND BEEF IN THE INSTANT POT:

Ingredients:

1 – 3 pounds of ground beef
1 cup of water

Place your trivet in the Instant Pot. Pour in one cup of water. Place your frozen beef on top of the trivet. Put the lid on and turn the knob to sealing.
Push the Manual Button, or pressure cook button and set the time for 25 minutes.
Once the timer is done, let it release on it’s own for 10-15 minutes. Turn the knob to let any more steam out.
Take your meat out of the Instant Pot and place in a bowl. Cut or chop the meat up.

You can freeze the meat in freezer bags for up to 3 months in your freezer.

This is the Taco Soup I made:
– I just threw everything in the Instant pot and cooked it for 5 minutes on manual. I used my already browned beef and just cooked my onions with the rest of the soup instead of browning it.

This is the Instant Pot I have (yes it is the cheaper one and I love it!):

If you are cooking for 1-2 people I would suggest the 3 Quart. If you are cooking for more, I would suggest the 6 quart!

  1. Ok. Late to the party. Just tried this with fresh 81/19 hamburger meat fresh. 20 minutes high, self release. Dumbed into my kitchenaid to break 5 lbs cooked burger. Fantastic! From 10lbs fresh made up 7 – 1lb ish freezer bags. Awesome. ❤️

  2. I've cooked frozen and unfrozen ground beef in the 3 qt. pot and it is inbelievable. Delicious. Not too dry and no grease. I cooked a 1 lb. frozen tube of ground beef from Walgreens in my 3 qt. pot. I gave it at least 40 mins. to cook. That worked well. Another time I just cooked it for 20 mins. and then mixed it in an inner pot with other ingredients for another 20 mins. and that was a tasty treat. (It takes longer to cook in the 3 qt. because it uses less pressure, but I can cook enough for 3 or more meals.)

  3. My ground beef was frozen in a ball and was rock solid when I put it in the Instant Pot. I pressure cooked for 25 minutes, plus did a 15 min natural release. When I sliced the beef open it was still red and raw inside. I suspect flat frozen ground beef is best for cooking this way. By the way, I love your channel!

  4. I have watched this video a few times to see what I’m doing wrong, Please help me tell me why the fat and stuff is not collecting in the bottom and it’s always on top of the meat and this big blob and it’s disgusting thank you

  5. Sad the fat went to waste! Our bodies need good healthy fat, try to find 100% grassfed pasture raised organic ground beef, I like to thaw 1lb pack in the fridge for 24 hours, then add organic grassfed beef tallow into my instantpot, then cook the ground with some Redmond’s fine sea salt.

  6. I would imagine the ground beef turned out boiled, not properly cooked, which happens with high heat and pan.
People here will refuse to eat ground beef that's been cooked and not … I don't know what the english word would be..
