How to make Alabama Pecan Bread in a Loaf Pan | Baking from Scratch Recipes | Quick Breads

Pecan recipes have been a favorite in my family for generations. I hope you enjoy this bread recipe as much as our family does.

Alabama Pecan Bread
1 Stick Soft Salted Butter (1/2 C.)
1 C. Packed Dark Brown Sugar
1/2 C. Sugar
2 Large Eggs at Room Temperature
1 t. Vanilla Extract
1/2 t. Maple Extract (can substitute with vanilla extarct)
2 C.All- Purpose Unbleached Flour
1 t.Baking Soda
1/2 t. Baking Powder
1/2 t. Salt
1C. Buttermilk (quick homemade buttermilk recipe below)
1 1/2 C.Chopped Pecans plus 1 T. Flour mixed in.

Quick buttermilk recipe:
1 C. Whole Milk
1 T. Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice OR White Distilled Vinegar
Let sit 15-20 minutes in refrigerator

Optional, Streusel topping:
2 T. Soft Salted Butter
1/2 C. Chopped Pecans
1/4 C. Flour
1/3 C. Packed Dark Sugar
Pinch Salt

Spray 9×5 loaf pan and parchment sling with non-stick spray. Bake bread @ 350 degrees 55-65 mintues OR until tester comes out clean. Check at about 45 minutes to see how bread is baking up. If top is getting overly brown, cover loosely with foil.
