Not sure what I did wrong. I followed the recipe exactly. Thick asparagus as well. Took out a minute early just in case. Came out mushy and stringy. Might have been bad asparagus.

Looks so good, BUT… You said put it in the oven for 18 minutes… How hot is the oven temp supposed to be? You never mentioned that crucial detail in your video… 😶🤔😌

Actually I have been doing this same thing for maybe 10 years ,a little different spices and I add about 4 tablespoons of white wine
Observation 1: People melting down because no oven temperature given – 100 (give or take).

I love to put a piece of fish on foil, cover it with asparagus spears, salt pepper, lemon slices and butter, seal it up and bake. I do this in single serving packets and it's delicious!

Very interesting add-ons; I just drizzle EVOO, add salt & pepper, Italian Seasoning, wrap the asparagus in foil, and cook on the outside grille. Next time I’ll try adding the shallots, garlic, and lemon zest, too!
Hmm… could you do this with a microwave pouch instead? Seems like the operative cooking here is really coming from steam – though, I suppose it's more gentle than microwaving, perhaps. I don't know! But maybe I'll try it out and see haha (obviously with something besides the foil).
I always shave the stems. It's time consuming, but well worth it!

I like this much better than roasting because I tend to overcook it.
This looks good but too lengthy for simply roasting asparagus.
