  1. Made this tonight. It smelled heavenly, but the flavor fell flat for me and my family. It was puzzling. I salted and peppered it, but somewhere it lost the flavor. I think maybe my garlic was not fresh enough (I live in rural Appalachia – sometimes our produce seems pretty weathered by the time it reaches us). My other spices are fresh since I cook highly spiced recipes. Anyone else experience the same thing? How did you fix it?

  2. Coming from someone who generally does not like eggplant, you made this look so appealing. The braising technique and those warm, earthy spices all came together with the herbs and yogurt to create an extremely appetizing looking dish. I will try to make this in the near future!
