  1. It’s suppose to look like soup and it only takes 15-20 minutes to make rue. But geeze they went through a lot to make this gumbo 😅😅😅 but I admire the hard work. It’s a much easier way to do it than piece by piece with adding things one by one.

Bridget and Julia and Mr Chris as well as Adam Reed on the corner I've been with you guys since Cook's kitchen milk Street now test kitchen okay I adore you guys I've been a long time watcher

  3. You like what you like, but I don't know about this. You need to sear the chicken before it goes into the pot. I didn't see nearly enough garlic or an abusive amount of black pepper. I've seen gumbo with no okra or sassafras, but it just feels wrong (I prefer sassafras because people in my family don't like okra). The dry roux doesn't seem right either. You need a little danger. I almost haven't made a roux I didn't get oil on my arm. And that was not nearly enough time to let it cook off the roux and let the flavors get to know each other. Where was the beer? Again, do you, but this needed disclaimers on not being very cajun or else people will think this is how you make real cajun gumbo.

  4. I really like this recipe. I go darker on the toasted flour until it's about like non-dutch process cocoa powder, I also go a little heavier on the spices & aromatics as a general rule for ATK recipes. Super quick & easy, it's gone into the rotation

  5. My mom used to use a dried skillet with flour to darken it. I went to the culinary Institute in New York and I even taught culinary art at Ivy Tech in Lake County Indiana . I am glad that you did a dried flour. Also my mother did a drive-through on the skillet. 🇵🇱🛶👩‍🍳🇺🇸

  6. Hmm, feels like I'm watching Shotgun Red in dresses. Sorrry to say but the similarities are just overabundend. The dry rue, splash of vinigar, scallions. If you took this from him, you should acknowledge this. if not my bad. Hey and you forgot the sinking okra!
