  1. Hainanese Chicken Rice does not exist in Hainan, it was created by the Hainanese in Malaysia and Singapore. Go to Hainan and ask for chicken rice, youll be greeted with puzzled faces. What exists in Hainan is Wenchang chicken. Khao Man Gai is a variation of Hainanese chicken rice, the usual sauces are replaced with the tau jiaw sauce. Also, the thais do not prioritize skin texture and juiciness like malaysians and singaporeans do.

  2. The two sauce story is highly relatable 😂 if someone in the family dares say a dish isn't their favourite, it'll turn into a spectacle of emergency cooking, and then the new variant gets stamped into the family lore 😂❤ and you can never eat it without her retelling the story!

  3. When my dad worked in thailand, he fell in love with this dish and asked a local how to cook it, especially the kmg sauce. Very flavorful and refreshing especially when the sauce came straight from the fridge. 😂
