You are lovely but it's insulting to us. A good English trifle would NEVER use instant pudding mix!!! We always use good quality homemade custard. We soak sponge cake in brandy and/or sherry, making layers of soft, seasonal fruit (not bananas!), soaked sponge cake and top with good quality whipped cream.
