How to Make French Toast!! Classic Quick and Easy Recipe

6 sliced Texas toast or thick cut bread
2 large eggs
1/4 cup milk or cream
1 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp cinnamon
pinch of salt
splash of vanilla extract
butter and vegetable oil for cooking

I grew up in Finland in the 70's,my mom❤ used to make this for us as dessert on weekends sometimes, we had it with home-made strawberryjam and whipped cream! In Finnish language this is called "köyhät ritarit" wich means "poor knights"!

Hint. For an excellent savoury version, use just use egg, cream, salt pepper and Worcester sauce. Cook as described here, then Serve with a little more W sauce. Amazing!

Love this recipe. One of my favorite go tos. Wish he would have continued posting videos.
I just tried this recipe. Here's some things I could add:
-Keep the heat consistent
-If possible, use a nonstick pan (I used a pan similar to the one in the video, the bread stuck despite the butter and oil, I think I the pan I used was just uneven so there were parts that didn't have enough butter and oil on it)
-Thickness of bread can vary but use a dry ish type of bread, the kind I used was pretty moist and ended up with floppy french toast
-Avoid putting in too much oil or butter, my toast ended up rather greasy
The result I got was not as good as I'd hoped but I'm not a very good cook in the first place, I'm glad I didn't burn it to a crisp lol
