I've tried both ways, but I think if you want a donut that tastes like it came from a bakery or Krispy Kreme or local donut shop, use shortening not butter, butter works but it always taste like a homemade donut, which is good, but for that true bakery tasting donut, some kind of melted shortening works best. You can't go wrong either way, but I was very surprised they chose butter. Have a great day everyone

  2. Damn you YouTube algo for recommending this video. Are you out of your mind? I am going to have donuts on the brain for at least the next 72 hours. The worst is….I recently bought fresh yeast and I was wondering what I would make. Welp, now I know. I love this video but my waistline hates it.
