Welcome to our kitchen! Today, we’re making a delicious twist on a classic dessert: Bread Gulab Jamun!
To start, gather your ingredients. You’ll need 6 slices of bread, 1 cup of milk, 1 cup of sugar, ¼ cup of water, and ½ teaspoon of cardamom powder. Don’t forget the oil for frying!
First, trim the edges off the bread slices and soak them in milk until they are soft. Once they’re ready, mash the bread into a smooth dough.
Next, shape the dough into small balls. Make sure they’re smooth to ensure they fry evenly.
Now, heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the bread balls until they turn golden brown. This should take about 3-4 minutes.
While that’s frying, let’s make the sugar syrup. In a saucepan, combine the sugar, water, and cardamom powder. Bring it to a boil, then simmer for 5 minutes until it thickens slightly.
Once the bread balls are golden, remove them from the oil and let them soak in the warm sugar syrup. Allow them to soak for at least 30 minutes for that perfect sweetness!
