  1. Today we’re going to make the beloved German Pancake. But we’re going to add a little twist. We’re going to add several new superfluous ingredients, use twice the normal amount of eggs, and cook it in a completely opposite method, time and temperature scheme. Ready?

  2. I did everything this recipe asked for but I added 1-2 tablespoons of lemon…the pancake became very thick and dense after 30 minutes…was the lemon the reason? no idea…now I have to remake without the added lemon to see…any ideas?

  3. At first I was blown away by all the eggs…. As I watched, I realized that I just had to make this. It looked divine and not overly complicated to make. Meaning, even I could make it. Thank you.

  4. I'd never heard of a popover (except as a loose layer of clothing to popover an outfit). Google says it's basically a yorkshire pudding. I've seen dutch baby pancakes here in Australia but they're generally served from the back of a van at marketstalls and events. You get about ten 1.5" tiny pancakes with masses of sugar and lemon and no other discernible characteristics other than 'fried' (and overpriced).

  5. I love America's Test Kitchen in every way, print or video, recipe or product review. All except the practice of pretending that one cook is teaching another cook how to cook. Lame. Are these folks afraid to talk to the camera?

  6. This is the best German Pancake recipe I have ever tried, and I've tried sooooo many over the last ten years. I use an 8" cast iron pan since I'm alone for breakfast so I cut the amounts of ingredients by 3 to fit the pan. I've never had a German Pancake rise and not fall but this one stood tall, even after cooling. It is nice to have the hints about bringing the milk and eggs to room temperature and…no preheating of the pan! I'm sold, this recipe is a keeper and I can ignore all others.

  7. Love the video woah no idea how I ended up here now of all times its late and I was just watching Delta Parole Music Videos and now I am here and getting hungry for this. Time to eat after I watch. lel

  8. Maybe I should be a teacher at this school since this gentleman has no clue what he's doing !!!! You caramelize the apples 1st.. while they're caramelizing , THEN you make the batter.. THEN you pour the batter into the apples & put the entire thing into a pre-heated 425 degree oven for 15-20 mins. And do not use lemon zest. 🤣🤣🤣 And this is supposed to be a professional ? A friggen cold oven can take up to 25 mins just to preheat.. 🤣🤣🤣 What a jackoff. Go back to school & try a different career kid.. Cooking isn't the job for you.
