  1. Thats one way to go but not how I do it . I have the old-fashioned pressure cooker hand me down, rattle top. I clean the potatoes , slice them up as is , no peeling . The onion , carrots and potatoes go in on the bottom and the meat on top after browning. Comes out great every time.

  2. Potatoes should always be seasoned with salt and pepper when boiling. But still do not understand why it was cooked separately to the beef stew.
Also need flavouring not such a good recipe for me but maybe others. Will like it …….

  3. I have read the comments so mine isn't really necessary but the first thing I thought too was, why not put the potatoes in the pressure cooker? Also, there just aren't enough spices or ingredients in this stew, where are the tomatoes? And way too many potatoes for the amount of other ingredients. And corn starch? Yuch.

  4. Love this pressure cooker!>>>ur2.pl/1035 I made Thai curry with chicken in 30 min and steamed rice in 6! I was a bit apprehensive as this is my first time using anything like this but getting started was pretty simple. It is important to follow instructions and "season" the seal. This would be a great gift for busy moms or really anyone who needs great food, super fast. I got this during prime day but will look for another deal around the holidays.

  5. I think you blew it by adding so many spuds, they are real salt suckers. Beef stew out here in Aussie is all about the beef; the vegs are minor bit players.
We also like our stews thicker. Try adding plain flour to the meat in the first place use only one spud and cut back on the carrot, this will prove much tastier and thicker. The mix will need to be very thick and have salt added at this stage; the vegs cooking will add moisture as she goes; producing a fine real tasty goo of stew.
Im a go to man of stew. Learned from my mom the best of all stewers in Aussie

  6. Thank you for your question. You can add the salt, pepper and any other spices right after you add the meat and the vegetables to the pressure cooker. Then, right before serving the beef stew, taste for seasoning and adjust with salt and pepper as needed. Happy cooking!

  9. Usually when cooking meat the salt is added last, but it doesn't make a difference when cooking with a pressure cooker, the meat is tender either way. I'd add bell peppers to the onions, maybe a little tomato paste for a more flavorfull broth.
