  1. Why is Indian food so fucking weird? Why would you pre-cook it in water when the whole thing can be cooked in milk from start to finish?????????? Saffron DOES….NOT…..GO……IN….DESSERT!!!!

  2. The authentic kheer takes hours to cook and you boil rice in milk not water. Long and slow cooking time is what makes it kheer – creamy and yummy kheer. This is a bud-desi(thing that’s not desi) rice pudding recipe so please don’t call it kheer.

  3. This dish is VERY ANCIENT, it was served to the Buddha by Sujata while the Buddha was fasting whilst sitting on a tree trying to find the middle path of all things. Buddha broke his fast after he was offered this dish called “Kheer” by Sujata who was the daughter of a wealthy monarch.

  4. I remembered when i was 14, i was at a friend's Rajasthani family house during Eid and the granny served this rice pudding.

    This is very fluffy and soft (i can still remember all the biryanis and naans before the pudding😅)
