In this sesame chicken version, I bake the chicken bites instead of deep frying them. Bake for 15 minutes and check on them, making sure it’s not over cooked. Depending on the size of the chicken pieces if they are small 15 minutes would be fine.

– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
– 1 teaspoon onion powder
– 3 tablespoons water
– 1 cup flour
– 1/2 cup flour
– 1/2 cup cake flour
– 1/4 cup cornstarch
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 2 large eggs
– 1 tablespoon water

Sauce
– 1 tablespoon sesame oil
– 1 tablespoon spicy ketchup
– 2 garlic cloves grated
– 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
– 3/4 cup chicken stock
– 1/2 cup honey
– 1/4 cup vinegar
– 1/3 cup brown sugar
– 2 teaspoons dark soya sauce
– 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
– 1 1/2 tablespoons water
