Why are you using water? It has no flavor. Use Beef Stock. Also, brown the meat before adding it to the Crock Pot.
I would add red wine instead of warer. It will be great. You can add mushrooms too.

I watched this video and it mentioned a quarter cup of water. Does that mean 1/4 cup of water, or 1 1/4 cup of water because in the video it looked more than 1/4 cup of water. Hope I get the answer soon. Gonna try this. Thanks.

Use golden mushroom soup and double it. Half pack onion soup, 2 teaspoons minced garlic. Fresh mushrooms at the end. This recipe is heavily modified on website in reviews and is a lot better this way.

well there is mushrooms in the condensed soup, and they used cream cheese instead of sour cream. so really just no wine.
Great idea, I will tweak it to my liking but never thought to make it in the crock pot!
Also, no browning of the beef. And I like to brown the onions too. Otherwise the taste is going to be weak. I guess that's why they add the Worcestershire sauce.
I agree sshadowdiver. I also add a little beef broth instead of water.
