Ingredients you’ll need:
Dough-
3/4 cup (174g) water
1/2 cup 125g) whole milk
1 packet? (9 grams?) yeast
3 cups (440g) bread flour
1.5 teaspoons (8g) fine sea salt
1 tablespoon (21g) granulated sugar
3 tablespoons unsalted butter softened

  30. This is my first attempt to bake anything and I mean anything! Bread came out decent! The top crust was disconnected from the rest when I cut it, and you could kind of unroll a slice if you cut all the crust off. I don’t know what that means but aside from that and it being a little heavy, I liked it! Gonna try again soon and see what happens!

  34. HELP :’(

    My yeast/milk/water mixture didn’t ferment or bubble at all. I’m so confused! The yeast wasn’t expired (not until 2024!), my milk was not expired, and the water and milk was heated to 94 degrees. When I realized nothing was happening during the 10 min waiting period I made another batch, and this time the water/milk mixture was heated to 100-107 degrees F. I read yeast doesn’t go bad until 120F.

    Any tips on what could of been wrong? I’m sooo confused and sad. I kept dry contents so I can try again.

  36. I follow the directions exactly in the book and it makes great bread but the layers when you roll the bread to put it into the pan they don’t combine and when you slice the different layers of the bread come out. It isn’t a solid price of bread it falls apart.
