It's not all full of lard and butter. It is still full of fat because sour cream is the same as lard or butter!

Hello I just found this recipe and so far it seems to be the one, can I use coconut mill instead of butter and whole milk? The coconut milk I think has enough grease. I'm allergic to any dairy products and where I live you can't find much vegan substitutes. I'd appreciate if anyone can help

Going to try this recipe. My recipe is good if you are going to eat a pan of cornbread quickly or it will get stale. Makes sense to use sour cream, I sometimes bake a white sandwich loaf of bread that has sour cream in it and it is nice.

Is the flavor of the sour cream prevalent in the final product or is it just used for its moistening properties? I'm asking because I really dislike the taste of sour cream, but if you can't taste it when the cornbread's done and it it makes it more moist then I don't mind using it. If the taste is prevalent, then what could I use as a substitute?

Looks really good but I love to make my cornbread in a cast iron skillet to get that toasted corn crust that's missing in this version. Nice looking recipe. Chili screams for homemade cornbread.

I love sweet corn bread! I almost cried when seeing this video because this recipe reminds me so much of my late aunt's recipe. Her corn bread was almost like a moist lightly sweetened pound cake it was so good 🙂 I never got the chance for her to teach me her recipe, she was one of the most gifted cooks I'd come across in life, pure sweet lady. Thanks for sharing this recipe! I've shed tears of memories on this one!
