  1. TBH, I will stick with my griddle. That feeds quite a few people at a time. That just really looks like dry toast. I generally use challah and always use powdered sugar. Thanks for the video and an alternative!

  2. A standard cookie sheet pan is not big enough for 8 slices, and so you need to reduce the custard for fewer slices of bread. Also, I think a non-stick pan would be better. I greased my pans a lot, but still some stuck so it was a little hard to check if the bread was ready to move up to the broiler. Otherwise, a very tasty french toast recipe.

  3. I spice mine up, too…..usually with cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar and a little vanilla…not nearly as much as here, however….the butter is a nice touch…but another tip I learned is to put corn starch in the batter to give it a little crisp texture on the outside.
I use a two burner griddle so I can fit 6 or 8 on….but using a sheet pan is a good idea for uniformly.

  4. Easy? Really? Do you know how long it would take to clean this up? And I have to get the oven ready? Are you kidding me? I wake up half dead and you want me to start BAKING? And then I have to use BOTH BURNERS in the oven? And this is EASIER? It looks delicious but the LABOR? MY WAY?
Make egg sugar batter (use vanilla creamer as a shortcut.
Heat As seen on TV copper no stick pan
Cook, pour extra batter on French toast in the pan and cook it with the French toast.

Clean up? Rinse pan – DONE!
And who doesn't;t like their French toast to be soggy? It's better that way. The extra batter goes on the French toast to make bread pudding like French toast. Your way is 10 times the work

  5. I am not a cinnamon fan in my French Toast. I like using a good Italian Loaf thick sliced. My custard has 3 Eggs, 1 Heaping TBSP White Sugar, 1 TSP Salt, 1 TBSP Vanilla Extract, 1/2 Cup of Half and Half. This is a savory/sweet French Toast. I have as shaker of Powdered Sugar with Cinnamon for those who want Cinnamon. For regular, I drop a bit of powder sugar into sifter to dust tops. Good Cooking Everybody!
