1 pound Cod (tilapia or shrimp)
1 cup of lime or lemon juice(20 key limes)
1/2 cup Clamato (tomato cocktail)
1/2 can of v8 juice (5.5-ounce can)
1 small chopped cucumber
1 chopped tomato
1/2 small chopped purple onion
Cilantro, salt, pepper to taste
Optional Serrano pepper or chiltepines
Topping options Mayo, hot sauce, and avocado

This recipe is very good but it’s more of a cocktail and once you realize that you can actually make it better once you understand you’re making a Mexican style cocktail I’ve been on the search for a true ceviche and it seems like they have morphed into a mixture of ceviche and cocktail true ceviche does not have any tomato-based products besides an actual tomato But besides that this is a tasty recipe

Aren’t you supposed to add salt first to the fish?
Lime "cooking" doesn't kill parasites found in uncooked fish. Only heat cooking kills them. You may have some unwanted "guests" in your GI tract.

I drain the lime juice that was used to “cook” fish for 1 1/2 hour. And reset with fresh lime /lemon juice combination
