  2. American Test Kitchen did you know loose meat sandwiches have long been popular in the northern mid-west region of the United States, and sometime in the '20s or '30s a Sioux City, Iowa, diner cook named Joe introduced tomato sauce to the loose meat mix, creating the "sloppy joe" sandwich. With the US possibly heading into a recession his recipe is not only cost effective, simple, but tasty.

  3. I made this recipe as shown but with a small green pepper cooked with the onions. Probably a little less brown sugar as well. It came out great. It wasn't very sloppy, but everything came out great!

  4. I tried this recipe yesterday . I was disappointed it came out salty so don’t know what I did wrong. But the consistency was good like they said it did not fall out of the buns.

  5. I believe there are more people eating sloppy joes then anyone realizes. I have them made from scratch, no sugar at all. They're so good. I always add a little green bell pepper, but everyone should make theirs the way they like them. 💕💕💕

  6. Well miss science, I think I will just stop by Bodacious BBQ on the way home and pick up a couple of quarts. They have the best sloppy joes in town anyway. That way when I get home all I have to do is slap some on a bun who cares if it slops off onto the plate that's why they call it sloppy. Then just pop a brewski and enjoy, and I don't have to mess with all that scientific mumbo jumbo
Bon appetit, and God bless America!
