But it’s become a Summer tradition for me to bring home what I think is a nice looking watermelon and make that disappointed face when I cut it open and take a bite.
if you never tried it with a little bit of salt, it will enhance the flavor! Salt on melon is a southern thing, but 40 years ago it spread to the Philadelphia & surrounding area.
I've been cheated, I've NEVER had watermelon as beautiful red and ripe!!😮
Black skin mother… Shut up 😡
Thanks 👍 for your information 👍👍
I recently heard to look for little pinprick holes on the green rind where bees have poked the surface to get sweet juices.
Why you be having a black girl eating watermelon?
That's useful as expected..

Why are seeds white instead of black???🤔
Thank you!
I bought one of those mini watermelon and when I tap it, it sounds very solid. Does that mean I have to wait??

A comment for the algorithm
cream colored spot, feels heavier than it looks (dense), sounds hollow and resonous, I didn't know about the skin
Knocking doesnt work easily BUT if the butt end (not the stalk end) is tiny with a yellow belly…. BINGO 😉
I like chicken Alfredo better
Does relative weight affect anything? I.e. heavier compared to similar sized ones, means juicier? Or more watered down?
If you want one that really tastes good, follow these rules and apply them to a seeded melon. Seedless have less flavor.
& more dry brown webs/veins 🕸
Yes, a yellow belly is true, but the deeper the yellow, the more overripe the melon will be. That melon is over ripe.
one of the best parts of summer!
All of these tips are what my mom taught us, growing up, when we were kids.
Just for reference, as of the time I'm writing this, my parents are in their mid-60s, my siblings and I are in our 30s (I was born in 1993).
thanks for this. I rarely pick the best one😢
You will never know by knocking it.
Thank you for this info! I've been picking UN ripened watermelon.
Wonder if this applies to a santa claus melon too
I’ve never had a bad watermelon
no one talks about the sugar vines that the melon gets. that’s let’s you know how sweet it will be before cutting !
