Tasting expert Jack Bishop challenges Bridget to a tasting of store bought sauerkraut from the supermarket. It turns out that the refrigerated products are not fresher than canned or jarred.

Hi and thank you. Raine
I will buy kraut this week.thanks folks
My favorite is the Clausen, which is both jarred and refrigerated. I like the jarred varieties simply because I can pull out a little for my hotdog or Reuben, and put the rest in the fridge. With cans or bags, you must transfer the leftovers to another container.
Guess What? I have made Sourkraut in at little as 2 days (not 6 Weeks). And you can too.
Salt, Water, Cabbage, and a glass jar with a lid is all that's needed. There are lots of videos on how to do this.
Frank's Kraut or GTFO! I'm still trying to figure out ATK's taste test logic. Sometimes they include regional brands, but then other times (like this time), they stick to the big corporate brands. FYI, Frank's also has a sister brand, SnowFloss Kraut, so I should think you'd be able to find one or the other in most parts of the country.
Cleveland Kraut in the grocery cooler is the best .
Libby’s canned sauerkraut is in act really, really good kraut!😊
Total BS! Canned has been pasteurized and no pro biotics. Real sauerkraut is refrigerated
But the canning process kills the probiotics which, in my opinion, is the whole point or the second point.
I like Libby’s. I’ve tried many and theirs is best tasting. I can’t afford the organic but I’m sure that’s better (organic always is). I agree, the plastic bagged sauerkraut is not good. I threw it out, it was so bad.
Head bent over.
Raised up posterior.
Dead Sauerkraut.. canned everything is killed with the heat probiotics etc
Needs more audience shots
Libby's …on Hot Dogs and Reuben on Rye………..I like it right of the jar after refrigerating, my favorite snack !
Libbey sauerkraut is very tasty for less price 😋.
If it says Libby's Libby's Libby's on the label label label you will like it like it like it on your table table table… Thanks for choosing my own favorite brand as the winner.
I just bought a big jar of Libby's Sauerkraut at Walmart today! Glad to hear I bought a good one – thanks! And it was only $1.67, good price for 32 oz jar!
Is there such a thing as "No Salt Added" sauerkraut offered by any brand, for us folks watching our sodium? Salt content is why I've mostly shyed away from the product. Can you tell me the sodium content per serving of the 3 kinds tested? Thank you!
I like to add some of the juice that is in those bread and butter pickles to the saurkarut as it makes it a bit sweeter
No Frank's sauerkraut?
But the jar and the can are pasteurized which defeats the purpose of eating sauerkraut
I eat Frank's kraut.
This thumbnail is a lie
Bridget is not a good listener. She's more interested in tasting the sauerkraut than looking at and listening to Jack Bishop! He seems to be telling her "Look at me while I'm talking to you!"
Is there a brand that has no salt?
Claussen's ABSOLUTELY !!!!!
"Real" sauerkraut is in the refrigerator! The Eden & Libby's are pasteurized. Rendering the probiotics ineffective. Shred some cardboard and put salt and vinegar on it! You'll have a comparable product!
Make it fresh
I rarely dislike videos, but had to give this one a thumbs down because the expert failed to talk about unpasteurized vs pasteurized versions
