Will it give the fruit or veggies a weird taste? Also should I wash all of the produce in a baking soda solution when I buy and then just store in fridge. Or wash before you eat them individually?
They donβt wash away – they are in the soil the planet is grown in. Think, its gets drenched with every crop and the seeds also have it them if they are GMO. So its also in the cell of the veggies or fruit you eat. Washing helps but not by much Save yourself from cancer and Buy Organic
"Food knowledge through science"! Gee, if only the farmers would quit putting unneeded poisons on out foods to begin with. Natural predators for truly troublesome pests, for instance…π’
I soak in baking soda for 5 min then add a few cups of vinegar, soak for 5-10 min. Rinse well, let dry completely and I store all of my fruits and veggies in mason jars and they last for weeks. π luv your info
Excellent! Baking soda has been my go to for washing veg. I make sure to wear gloves when rinsing the foods off since the baking soda solution seems to dry my hands.
Crap! Iβve been doing it backwards! My thought process was to add salt to drive the little nasties bedding down inside the produce out. What to do???

The problem with this is the majority of pesticides used now on crops are systemic and grow inside of the plant itself

How about we get some regulations against plastering our food with toxic pesticides?
The real real question, how do you know if you have produce that NEEDS this treatment?
