How To restore an Outback BBQ barbeque – part 2 – amazing before and after! I did it! Real world DIY
I love my old Outback Spirit 3 burner BBQ. It is some 13 years old and has lived a hard life! Many bbq’s, countless burgers and sausages and gorgeous chicken have passed by…. And I kept it outside, albeit under a cover, but time and heavy use took its toll.
Eventually the burners rusted away, as did the burner support bar, and a few other things perished and faded, no surprise.
I liked it though, and couldn’t find anything I preferred better… so I decided to fix it instead of just throwing it away.. make do and mend!
In this final part of the restoration, I grind and cut away the rust, weld in a new burner support bar, paint it all and restore the control panel facia… and the wooden side racks get the love too…
It turns out great, and it works too!
I Have my BBQ back and I couldn’t be happier!
