Great video, great meat.
Thanks Schuey! Gave me the confidence to have a crack myself.
This is my go to video for making brisket on the Weber. I got it down but always watch the night before a cook just to make sure I’m prepped 🫡
You are godlike! Thx from germany
Love this video! Where can I store the brisket to rest if I don’t have a cool box?
Lmao, you’re sooo funny! 4:02–4:12!
Just a few drinks? I'm cooking a brisket, i intend to make it a 12 pack
Pro Tip: Wash your gloves just like you'd wash your hands. Save on gloves, better for environment.
Crikey this is the fist Schuey video I've seen where he PLACES the grill in the kettle. I'm glad you found out that was illegal!
At what temp should I let it cool to before I wrap and hold?
Last time I wrapped and held straight away and it kept cooking making it too dry. TIA👍
Won’t lie, Vegemite makes such a better binder than mustard
It's always a treat for me when I see someone crank out a great-looking brisket in a very simple way-AND on a very simple grill that most people can afford. Webber Kettles are all I use on my channel as you know. I haven't done very many briskets-in fact I can count them on one hand. But I've never done a bad one. Now though, it's time to start stepping my game up. I've been watching a few videos, especially the easier, more straight-forward cooks. I realize now that the magic I was missing is that super long hold. I bought a cheap clearance brisket a while back, I think I'm going to pull it out and give it a go brother. Thanks for a nice, simple "science-free" brisket tutorial my friend. Easy to watch, easy to do.
I just did this method on my weber this past weekend, and man it was a success. Thanks for your help!
New Subscriber here and Damn I’ll be trying this out
If only I watched this last week…now I've got no more mustard for my hotdogs 🤦🏾♂️
This piece of meat looks gorgeous!
What is the reason for the holding it for 2 hours? Great videos as always btw
This smut makes for a great brisket. Briquettes and snake are key to the temp control – I can’t get nearly as stable with lump. Thanks for the guidance!
How did we cook brisket before the age of thermometers (Harry Soo way)?
Well it's pretty simple: manage a blue smoke (enough oxygen by managing how much charcoal you light) > wait long enough till you are satisfied with the bark (color + when you touch it only a bit of oil/flat comes up) > wrap then with either foil, butcher paper or nothing > probe with a tooth pick till it slides in as if you are sliding it into butter. Rest it till you can handle it with bare hands. Voila.
Cooked this last weekend with a 100g sandwich steak. Come out a little chewy.
fuck yeah on ya schuey, too bad your from melbourne but,
I have a question, Won’t the probes wire affect the lid closure?
What’s the target temperature
Amazing video.
Annoying douche
I watched this video at least 15 times because I was so nervous to make my first brisket because I decided to do it when I had about 13 adults coming for a bbq. When I tell you it was perfect!! It truly was! Tender and juicy! I got so many compliments. Thank you so much for your video and for making it so easy! Everyone loved it, they even said it was better than the bbq spot up the street 🎉
I looked up how to cook a brisket on a Weber kettle and this is exactly what I needed. Most videos finish the brisket in the oven taking away from the art of using the Weber from start to finish.
Did you end up adding any more wood chunks during the cook?
Cooked this last weekend with a 7.4kg brisket, followed the instructions and it was perfect! Moist and everyone loved it. Thanks Schuey
Smoking a brisket as I type this, and I can confirm that everything he instructs in is accurate
Hello from England – great video, thank you. I am about to purchase a Weber kettle barbecue – what model Is it that you use and do you have any advice on what I should purchase? I am a complete newbie. Apart from eating barbecue food which I am bloody excellent at
8 beers in
I have never smoked a brisket before. I have eaten some slices though.
Giving this a go for my first brisket this Sunday….fingers crossed.
One question though: why did you just "boat" it, but don't wrap it completely like you see everywhere else?
Cheers man
Where can I buy or get smoking wood here in the US? Do they sell them at Home Depot or the grocery stores?
Ngl, the host is so entertaining
This has to be one of the best brisket videos ever! I have watched a ton of them. Funny too 😂
Way over trimmed.
I'm out of briquette charcoal and I'm trying to do this with lump charcoal. Let's just say I'm not having a good time.
I've done afew brisket snow on my weber. Schuey your video was the best I've seen yet.
