with the amount of microplastics being ingested from products like this, I have ABANDONED ALL NON-STICK TEFLON COATED appliances, instead for stainless steel or cast iron
This is such fundamental information at 1:02 that isn't mentioned anywhere in the instruction booklet. I had no idea the grill plate needs to put in flat side up for normal air frying. No wonder my fish fingers were soggy….
So so frustrating without clear instructions – mine going in the scrap heap !
15 minutes?? My Ninja grill takes about 2, thats insane
I bought this Tefal air fryer recently and I haven't as yet used it (fortunately). I have read the basic instruction manual and was surprised to learn that before I can use the grill you have the heat up the air fryer for 15 minutes (plus 8-10 mins cooking time) This defeats the object of an air fryer and in fact I can grill bacon and/or sausages using my conventional gas grill in about 10-15 minutes and it's cheaper using gas. A friend has an earlier Tefal model and she never uses the grill, it's a waste of time and costly she said. I'll be returning my air fryer and replacing it with a slightly bigger Tower fryer (without a grill) and it's £30 cheaper. I've already downloaded the Tower manual (which is very good)…. it's far more explanatory than the Tefal one. I'll stick (excuse the pun) to the Tefal cooking utensils which are very good indeed.
I'm still confused, you preheated on 'grill', then to cook the steak was it on 'grill' or 'airfry'? Also is it ok to air fry without the grill plate for reheating pies, ready meals, nuggets etc.
This was helpful. Thank you. The grill plate has rubber stoppers on the sides & I wasn't sure if I had to push it right down or if it had to be near the top for grilling.
What about cheese on toast?
I have the Tefal health grill and hoped an air fryer might be quicker but seems both need pre-heating.
Do you have to pre heat Air fryer and grill everytime? what about the steamer ? just bought 3 in 1.
I honestly don’t understand why there are no instructions at all when you buy these machines. Really bad for Tefal
Your secret ingredient, well isn’t!?
where is the audio
Placing the cooked steak onto the plate you used when it was raw…. 😱
Place cooked steak and rest of a bed of uncooked steak juices ! Nice Tefal
i thought the whole idea was to save and be economic and not to have to pre heat
just tell us how to damn well grill and get on with it, we havent asked why to buy it
Is there any cookbook manual/suggestions?.
There is a Grill pre-heat function built in (on the right-hand side of the power botton) so why did you manually set it?
Putting a cooked steak back on the original plate with raw juices is a dumb move.
I have owned this air fryer and I like it but never get that nice crispy texture on my chicken wings (a single layer on the regular side plate side) or any other food for that matter, except for homemade fries, which turn out fantastic.
I still need to try it out using steaks though.
don't the rubber parts from the grill have to be removed?
How do I cook a well done stake in the air fryer?
What I learnt from this was that you need to leave the grill plate in, but upside down, when cooking normally.
This wasn't mentioned anywhere in the instruction manual at all.
do you have to remove the rubbres from the base plate.
How can anyone believe you when you cheat, One regular steak then Magic its a tiny steak in the fryer.
i love how the steak shrank in size when it was placed in size
Just like a previous contributor, (Miner on Demand), I had to treble check that you have to pre-heat the Tefal air fryer for 15 mins before cooking when using the grill plate. Doesn't this defeat the object of saving energy by using an air fryer ? Other makes mention 2-3 mins warm up time. I will avoid using the grill plate.
I'm sorry but 15 minutes pre heat? This is supposed to be quicker and cheaper than conventional cooking.
While you pre heat, I cook and eat my steak.
