I replaced 50% of the pellets in my Pellet Smoker with wood chips (linked below) and reversed seared a whole Argentine picanha from These pellets were sized for use with the LSG, and I am not suggesting that they should be used with any other pellet grill. But, I can say that the result was amazing and added a much better smoky flavor than pellets alone! Lone Star Grillz is making the perfect size chips available to work with the auger. There is no guarantee that this technique will work with all pellet grills, but it sure works with LSG!
