My main question which they did not address: can you cook a sourdough boule loaf in this? (I’m guessing not, but would like to see someone try)
I have a Dutch oven and an inexpensive induction hot plate. It does the job and cost less than all options.
I have a Staub dutch oven, and I think that, if anyone even remotely knows what they're doing, the issue of a the black/dark interior makes zero difference. The light-colored interiors of a Le Creuset, etc only matter if you're new to cooking or if you have a hard time paying attention.
Le Creuset pots rims ARE ENAMELED! It is a clear coat. There is absolutely no need to oil the rim. One should never bang it with a spoon or some such or it will damage the enamel and make it chip, at least this she got right. Just watch a video on how the pots are manufactured.
Will never understand why anyone would pick up an Instant Pot in any form over the Ninja Foodi. Having used both the Foodi is far superior
Loved this very helpful video. We have a very tiny kitchen with beefed up, multiple electrical outlets, but very restricted counter and storage space. I really like that the Instant Pot is cast iron and that I don't have to lift it up from a cupboard storage space to put it on the counter. It's attractive enough to live on the counter.
I haven't decided whether to buy it, but your video might sway me to do so. There is no way that we would be able to store, yet alone use, two separate, heavy pots at this stage of our lives.
How does the All Clad model compare?
Thank you for this comparison. I've been on the fence about "instant pots" and I think I'm still going to hold out for the time being. I've got 2 crock pots and a dutch oven, Lodge, I think, and I use them according to the end result I'm seeking. Not to mention the various soup pots, pasta pots, steamer pots, and the list goes on. Can a cook really have too many pots?!?! 😏😘😎😍
Bad thing about something that replaces other products is if it breaks you have lost both!
I have exactly the same le creuset, even the colour, and I love it. It just goes everywhere: oven, stove, open fire.
I'd replace my slow cooker and Dutch oven if ANY company would make a slow cooker/electric roaster product that had automatic mode and manual mode 140° up. The majority of cookers lowest setting is 200°, way to hot
I think I would like one of these, but
given that I have two slow cookers that I love, two Instant pots (6 qt & mini) that I love, and two round Dutch ovens… I think I’ll wait on this product until they have at least improved on the operation/control 😁
I would not use the instant pot. I like my braiser, Dutch oven by corelle. Much lighter weight.
this is a cheap rip off version for the Vermicular system, which actually addresses the concerns the reviewers had about the instapot. You can manually enter temps and the dutch oven itself is far superior.
how do you clean this for the first time and afterwards ???
So I could buy this gadget instead of just using my dutch oven on the stove and adjusting the temperature as needed. What a waste.
I love my instant pot but I think it is way to limited for what you get. Good idea but the company poorly planned the exaction of the product. If I used a slow cooker I would go with the Kitchen Aid slow cooker.
I love my slow cooker and dutch oven. Do not like the instant pot. Seen too many end up in the dump due to issues only after several years. I use an old fashioned pressure cooker and it beats the instant pot in cooking times. Would not buy the combo… I also think the size/shape is limiting.
nice, but I'll stick with my Staub AND the IP …. since I have already spent the funds.
I love my dutch oven and its now my go-to cooking equipment. Stays on the range don't even bother putting it away after cleaning. My slow cooker is ceramic and developing a crack after 20 years. I will replace it soon with another slow cooker, making sure it's oval and white inside. I enjoyed the review but I won't adding the cast iron instapot to my kitchen.
I have had an Instant Pot for several years and it's still in the box sealed. I like my Dutch Oven(s) Maybe a bit old fashioned but I can depend on them and if something goes wrong it is always operator error. 🙂
Just picked up one of these today, on sale at Costco. Had recently been thinking about getting a Dutch oven, and our crock pot recently crapped out, so this was perfect for us!
We saw this cooker yesterday and thought about it for a second. I do love my simple Instant Pot, and I do not have an oven. Trying to simply and my stove is a General Motors. That tells you how old it is. Still waiting for a magical machine. And haven't gotten into my air fryer yet.
Thank you for your review. Can you put the Dutch oven pot in the oven to cook bread
This should be called we pick kitchen aid everytime.
“If you’re looking, you ain’t cooking.”
And…
“It’s gotta render to be tender.”
Do you have a video on how to get the stains out of a Lecreuset Dutch oven? I’m afraid I might have ruined it by scrubbing it too much trying to restore it to the original color.
I've found the slow cooker function seems to heat somewhere between a normal crockpots low/high settings. Once I adjusted cooking times it works great.
Never had a problem with uneven cooking in my crockpots. Roasts have always come out fork tender, snd juicy.
Oh yes.. I do love my two slow cookers…a big oval ones, to my little 3qt. One.
I have both an IP, and two Lodge Dutch ovens..a 6qt., and a 3 qt… I have to admit that I love my Lodge pots.. The house smells soo good when I use them for those things that require a long, slow cook. I know my IP csn domit faster.,but I love to stir..and smell the goodness . My Lodge pots allow me to actually participate in the cooking process.❤❤❤
I have both instant pot and slow cooker because although the instant pot has a slow cooker function it sucks at slow cooking. They had one chance in my books and I would not support company twice when they should have made it right the first time or left it off their extensive can do items they advertise. Saying that I love my instant pots (plural) but not for slow cooking.
She "literally" broke the lid? As opposed to "figuratively"?
