Take a flat file to the door notches to widen them. Easy fix
I would agree with you but the smoker is not "on the market". You can text the number listed but do not expect to hear anything from them.

Blue Smoke Smokers is the best smoker for the $$$$. I did a lot of research and decided on the BSS. It is absolutely incredible.
Thank you for emphasizing the extra importance of fire management on backyard offsets. I wish the manufacturers would do a better job of telling customers that you can't build a 1000-gallon fire in a 40-inch offset. And further dial-in instructions, such as the 50 percent stack damper setting in the case of this pit, would be helpful. You have proved that learning your cooker is the most important thing of all. And the Jello jiggle of your last brisket was proof of the pudding. Great video.

With the damper in the cook chamber by the firebox why do you have a blocking log if the high heat is being reflected by the plate?
