James Hoffmann Teaches Dan How to Brew and Drink Espresso | What’s Eating Dan?



Brewing espresso at home can be fun and rewarding, but also quite complicated. Coffee expert, YouTuber, and author James Hoffmann is here to guide Dan through the process of brewing (including dose, ratio, grind size, temperature, pressure, and brew time) and drinking the best espresso.

    I'd submit that – for espresso – you want a grinder that is going to give you a "plurimodal" range of particle sizes, not "evenly cut pieces" as you suggest".

  2. Barrington Coffee is top notch, I first got wind of them because of coffee stouts from Trillium, but Exhibit A Brewing's Sunday Paper is is my favorite coffee stout out there, and the Barrington Coffee is a major contributor to this awesome brew. Great video, and James is the best, as always.

  3. loved the video! if I may give an opinion about the production, the background music, the pizzicato strings, kind of put a fun/comedy vibe to the video, which I find distracting, because it is not a comedy video. As I said, it is a great video!

  4. DAMHIK but most people don't know what good espresso is supposed to taste like.
    Milk and G4Bid flavorings hide so many sins
    It's OK to like Folgers instant. There is a time and place
    but to play the game you got to know where North is and that is often overlooked.
