Japanese Pork Belly Curry Recipe!
You can use a Japanese curry roux to make this delicious pork belly curry recipe that melts in your mouth!
Ingredients (Serves many)
1 box Japanese curry roux (Java Curry used in video)
500g thick pork belly
3 onions
1 carrot
15g garlic & ginger
1.5 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon powdered cumin & coriander
1900ml water
1. Sear both sides of pork belly, cut into large pieces.
2. Thinly slice onions, grate carrot, garlic & ginger.
3. Pour olive oil, cumin & coriander into a pot, lightly heat them. Add the onions & carrot.
4. Lightly cook garlic & ginger in the same pan used for the pork belly, then put into pot.
5. Sauté until onions are lightly caramelized.
6. Pour water & pork belly, bring to boil as you scoop out the foam, simmer in low heat for 1 hour.
7. Turn heat off then dice up curry roux, pour some broth into seperate bowl, melt the curry roux, pour back into pot.
8. Stir & simmer for 10 more minutes. For even more flavor, refrigerate overnight. Enjoy!
