Jerk Chicken | Recipe | BBQ Pit Boys



RECIPE:
Ingredients:
Chicken pieces
1 tablespoon SPG
2 tablespoons pimento
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 cayenne pepper
2 tablespoons cinnamon
1 tablespoon thyme
1 tablespoon salt
1 cup apple cider
1 cup diced green onion
1 cup diced red onion
1/4 cup neutral oil

Instructions:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the pimento, onion powder, cayenne pepper, cinnamon, thyme, salt, apple cider, diced green onion, diced red onion, neutral oil, and SPG seasoning blend.

Mix the marinade ingredients until well combined.

Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid.

Place the marinating chicken in the refrigerator and let it marinate for 4 days. Turn the chicken pieces occasionally to ensure even marination.

After 4 days, preheat your smoker to medium-high heat.

Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing any excess marinade to drip off.

Place the chicken on the preheated smoker and cook for about 2 hours at around 150~ 200 f, turning occasionally, finish off over direct heat on the grill.

Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

Serve the Handzees Jerk Chicken hot and enjoy!
