Here’s a simple recipe for making Lachha Paratha, a popular layered flatbread from India:

### Ingredients:
– 2 cups whole wheat flour
– 1 tsp salt
– 2 tbsp oil or ghee (clarified butter)
– Water, as needed (approximately 3/4 cup)
– Ghee or oil, for cooking
– Extra flour, for dusting

### Instructions:

1. **Prepare the Dough:**
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and salt.
2. Add 2 tbsp of oil or ghee and mix it into the flour using your fingers until it resembles coarse crumbs.
3. Gradually add water and knead the dough until it becomes smooth and soft. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.

2. **Roll the Parathas:**
1. Divide the dough into equal-sized balls (about 6-8, depending on the size of the parathas you want).
2. Take one dough ball, dust it with flour, and roll it out into a thin circle (about 8 inches in diameter).
3. Spread a thin layer of ghee or oil over the rolled-out dough.
4. Sprinkle a little flour over the ghee or oil.

1. Start pleating the dough from one end, folding it like a paper fan or accordion.
2. Once it’s pleated, roll the pleated dough into a spiral, tucking the end underneath.
3. Gently press down the spiral and dust it with a little flour.
4. Roll it out again into a circle (about 6-7 inches in diameter), being careful not to press too hard to maintain the layers.

4. **Cook the Parathas:**
1. Heat a tawa or flat skillet over medium-high heat.
2. Place the rolled-out paratha on the hot tawa.
3. Cook for about 1-2 minutes until bubbles start to appear and the bottom is lightly browned.
4. Flip the paratha and apply ghee or oil on the cooked side.
