For everyone asking about variable temperature or gooseneck kettles, they did a follow-up video about that just a few months ago.

The OXO just gave out on me after 2 years 4 months of use 😒😒
halo
I noticed that they like allot of the Oxo brands, pretty cool that I don’t have to buy the most expensive
It is not important to see the water level inside. I can boil slightly more than I need and measure the hot water. A glass kettle could shatter. I've refilled my hot metal kettle on many occasions without cooling it down first.
Redo this episode with kettles that have specific temperature settings.
Bad review, the choice was for those who like glass kettles; no other good choices.
I usually have a high regard for your reviews. But why would you recommend any kettle where the boiling water is in contact with plastic parts? Surely that's a clearcut strike against any model?
OXO again for the win! Not surprised.
Oh gee, what a surprise, another OXO product won and America's test kitchen shootout. Who saw that coming?
I swear the integrity of America's Test Kitchen went out the window when Christopher Kimball left.
Whoever does 300 boils for review is a hero and we should celebrate them.
Can someone recommend a quieter electric kettle? help i need sleep
I appreciate you guys doing the research. I have wasted a lot of money and filled too much space in our landfill with products that were worth neither. I haven't been let down by your reccomendations yet. Now, if I can find your equivalent for products in other rooms of the house. . . . .
Random idea,
have you guys ever thought about doing a segment or series about setting up your kitchen? My friends daughter got her first apartment and her setup was a mess. When she mentioned she couldn't cook, I jumped in. "Half your problem is your kitchen set up. You shouldn't have your pots, pans and cooking utensils 3 steps or more from your stove. Your spices are to far away. Your baking stuff should go on the far side of your work bench so its handy to put what you prepare on the counter in them. . . .~deep inhale~ also. . . . .." when I got done she said, "I don't know where anything is?" I told her, "stand in the place you need it and it will be within reach". A week later she called me, "Auntie! I made my boyfriend dinner last night and I didn't burn ANYTHING!" LOL not everyone has an auntie Lark.
I tried buying to the OXO kettle twice (the one with temperature control) both times they created water that tasted AWFUL. The water tasted and smelled like plastic. I cleaned them several times. Ran white vinegar though them 10+ times. After all the effort, the water was still terrible. Haven't tried buying another one since.
THANK YOU, looking for insta-boil for french press and for insta-bowls
Thanks!
i have a 1.7 quart Oster I bought at Kroger for $15. its plastic, no temperature controls and a small vertical window with measurements. and it works great! I've had it for 6 years. I always take the reviews with a grain of salt, what a professional kitchen needs isnt necessarily what i need.
you missed an important part. no matter what type of plastic used, if any, ends up flavouring the water and slowly disintegrating within a year or two. had expensive brand kettle that upon inspection plastic parts literally started breaking into small pieces after two years use. no more plastic parts kettles for me, not even lid.
I'm debating whether or not to buy one of these. I've read mixed reviews for them, with most complains of them failing within a year. Is there such thing as a reliable kettle brand that can last 5+ years? I don't have money to burn.
Um what…? They talk about kettles as if they’re a new discovery. Americans don’t have kettles or something?
For a free review I hear lots of compliments from the peanut gallery 🤨
Aicook Electric Kettle 1.7L Glass Tea Kettle, Smart Tea Maker with To The Degree Temperature Control, 100% Stainless Steel Inner Lid, Infuser & Bottom, Auto Shut off & Boil Dry Protection, BPA free
I wonder if you would rate this kettle , as it has variable temperature control
Can we have a bit more than what could be product sponsorships??
Here's a list that helped me out.

In the end, I went with #8.

Legit got this after watching a Pikamee kettle noises video I kid you not. YouTube has upped their recommendation game I see
Love the ATK videos. This one helped me out.
Since ATK went woke, I’ve switched to Milk Street.
is this channel sponsored by OXO or what is the deal here ?
I prefer the Ovente, less than $20 and it lights up. https://www.amazon.com/Ovente-KG83B-BPA-Free-Protection-Indicator/dp/B00DEPGY7G/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=tea+kettle+ovente&qid=1602288204&sr=8-3
The oxo does come in a variable temp
How about the rust at the bottom?
Completely useless and uninspiring "review."
Lol
Not a very thorough testing and comparison here! I bought an inexpensive Mr. Coffee kettle and while it says that the water is 205, then I test it in the French press it's only at 200. I set it at 212 for black tea and it's still never gets past 200.
