Lobster Rolls Recipe | Big Night In | Sorted Food

Big Night In At Home – This is Mike’s favourite… in fact if given the choice I think he’d live off nothing but lobster! We serve ours up two ways in toasted brioche rolls.

  1. Thanks for including the death of the lobster, and for doing it humanely. Because it's important for us to accept responsibility for whatever we consume on this planet, and appreciating the cost is the foundation for using meat sparingly. ❤️

  2. Hi guys!!! I love all of shows that you do. Me being from New England. Boston, MA, USA to be exact. I do love me some lobster rolls. It's the ULTIMATE indulgence. I love either or. Hot with butter or cold with mayo. I will say though it looked like you put way too much mayo in the cold preparation. You only want to add a little because you still want to taste more sweetness from the lobster than you do have creamy and salty mayo. Overall, great dish. Loved that fact also you paired it with potato chips (crisps). That's how we do it here in New England. It's a staple and one of the cornerstone dishes here as well. Love the beer pairings as well with your savory dishes. I would've paired it with a Samuel Adams type beer like a Boston Lager or Summer Ale.

  3. Great that you use a knife guys! But you really don’t need to put it in the freezer before killing it. The knife kills the lobster in less than a second so why on earth would you make it “go sleepy” in the freezer before that. Any stress the lobster will feel on the board before the knife, it will probably also feel when put in the freezer. On the board, knife through the head, done.

And also, I grew up in a small fishing town in Sweden so I am not pulling this out from a dark place.

  4. Eggs are one of those foods I would never want to give up either…. Till this fall when I became allergic to them. I would love to see you guys come up with a non tofu egg substitute that most mimics a runny egg yolk in taste and texture. Or do vegan egg recipes that are not tofu. I'm not vegan in any way. 😁
