I just want to let you know Paula that I began watching your cooking show on Food Network back in the early 2000s, when I was in high school, and I've really enjoyed your cooking and your warm spirit ever since. I made the cake and my frosting was too soft and didn’t set up as cream cheese frosting usually does. It tasted good.

Growing up, my mama made each of us kids our favorite cake for our birthday. Mine was strawberry. This is just how my mama used to make it, but the frosting had more strawberries and Jell-O in it too. That stuff was so sweet it'd put you into a diabetic coma, but as a kid it didn't bother me at all. One year she made a kitty cat strawberry cake for me in the perfect shape of a kitty but it had white frosting. I loved the cat but on the inside I was kind of sad because I was looking forward to that sweet strawberry frosting. Well my sweet mama, unbeknownst to me, had made a second cake that she hid and it had my favorite strawberry frosting. So that year I got two cakes! Thank you sweet mama. I miss and love you. 💕🌺
