Just want to say, I moved down to the low country 11 years ago and was excited to be near Savannah and Paula Deen! 5 kids later, my elderly cat had an emergency visit to the vet last night and low and behold, there you were 😀 <3. Hope all is well! Thanks for the videos!
I would like to make this Chilli on game day. However, I wonder if ground turkey will work as well?
No, No beans in my chili please
I’d love for you Paula or anyone else to try my family’s classic chili recipe.
1 onion
1 bell pepper orange or red
2 fresh jalapeños
6 cloves of garlic
1 1/2 pounds ground beef, less or more if your want
4 cans of Brooks chili beans hot or mild
1 large can of tomato sauce
1/2 can of tomato paste
1 or 1 1/2 water
1/4 ketchup
Good shake of Cholula hot sauce
Seasoning
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tablespoons flour white or wheat
2 tsp cumin
3 tablespoons chili powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp of red pepper flakes
1 tsp of black pepper
1 tsp of white pepper
Chop your veg how you want I like mine fine, cook it off with the beef, add in your seasoning mix above, pour in tomato products, then beans, then ketchup and hot sauce and let it simmer for and hour or so don’t burn the bottom lol. Enjoy!.
Go Dawgs……..💗
