The butter is healthy. It's the crackers/creamed soup/carbs~sugar that are the problem. 🤷🏼♀️
What I would change:
Omit the cream soup, he's adding sour cream so technically it doesnt need it. Omit the butter cracker topping. Add some shredded cheddar for more flavor. Then some crumbled BACON on top after cooking… FLAVOR; not just salt👍🏼

This is very similar to my poppyseed chicken! We serve it with egg noodles and it’s this exact recipe, but with the addition of a splash of lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, celery salt, and fresh minced garlic in the sauce… and poppyseeds mixed in with the cracker topping. Serve over egg noodles, it’s fantastic ❤
If you make casseroles in a 9-by-13 baking dish instead of a round dish, you can put additional topping on it (which is what many of us like the most).
