Looks super duper delic.!! I think it go well with some mashed potatoes as well and a salad possibly : )). I love the historic background. You should do a favorite dish of all the U.S. presidents or deserts. If not mistaken Dolly Madison invented the Boston Cream pie for instance.

Silly cow you dont taste uncooked spices they have to have the heat to release the oils out,in order to release the flavours

Powdered spices lose their oils very quickly. They are tasteless after a while. That is why it’s always better to freshly grind if you can
Why did you skip the browning step? And why skinless and boneless? The skin, properly browned adds a lot of flavor and texture. The bones add flavor and unctuousness to the gravy.
I love history food videos. I find it amazing how recipes have come and gone like fashion. Like in 150 years they will be talking about the popeyes chicken sandwich.
I have wondered what this was since I was a little kid, and my Dad would play an Elvis 8 track that had his version of Old MacDonald. There's a reference to chicken fricassee in that song, and nobody in my family knew how to make it.
Looks delicious but it looked like you used way too much mace/clove mixture. Most recipes call for a tiny 1/8 teaspoon.
I like the video once because the food just looked good. But then when he did that little dance I tried to like the video again with no luck. Thanks for making such a good video

Looks fabulous Kent. I always drop dumplings into my fricassee. Enough flour will come off the dumplings to thicken the gravy all on it's own.

Fricassee is to BROWN in butter then stew. No browning occurred. This is milk braised chicken.
