I prefer it without any substituted bacon because carbonara isnt made with bacon its made with guanciale which is not smoked and most halal bacon has really overpowering artificial smoke flavour added. Iv had ok carbonara made with turkey ham which dosent have the overpowering smoke flavour added but that was at a buffet and they made it with cream instead of eggs so it was a bit too rich. The ones iv made at home with egg and just leaving out the meat have been better
