As someone who grew up in the PNW and lived in the East Coast for a few years, I can say with certainty… East Coast oysters, hands down, it's no competition.
You will probably giggle at this, here it is. I find that I like Wicomico river oysters vs a Chesapeake Bay oyster. They have a sweeter taste without the heavier salt taste vs a Bay oyster. They also have a better aqua cultural environment .
Is there a risk of mercury exposure with oysters, like there is with fish? I haven’t tried raw oysters in over a decade- but seeing these videos really makes me want to try them out

Have you ever tried a gulf of Mexico oyster? Apalachicola, Bayou le Batre and Texas oysters are very good. Try them
