Very Easy Naati Style / One Pot Chicken Donne Biryani 🤗

✨ Recipe

Marinate

Chicken – 1 kg
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Chili powder – 2 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Garam masala – 2 tsp (comment for recipe) 👉
Salt – 2 tsp
Kasoori methi – 2 tsp
Yogurt – 1 tbsp
Let it marinate for atleast 30 mins

To grind

Onion – 1 large sized
Green chilies – 6 nos
Coriander leaves – 1 cup
Mint leaves – 1 cup
Garlic – 15 to 16 cloves
Ginger – 2 inch pieces (diced)
Poppy seeds – 1 tsp
Cashew nuts – 6 nos
Garam masala – 1 tsp
Grind coarsely

Seeraga samba rice – 2 & 1/2 cups
Rinse it couple of times and soak

In a heavy bottomed pot

Ghee – 1 tbsp
Peanut oil – 2 tbsp
Whole spices (cardamom – 4, cinnamon – 2 1” pieces, cloves – 4, stone flower a small piece, starannise – 2, bay leaf – 3)
Onion – 1/2 cup
Sauté till the onion is golden brown
Add the green ground mixture
Fry till it turns aromatic and oil separates
Add the marinated chicken
Sauté till the chicken turns white on the outside
Water – 4 & 1/2 cups
Salt – 2 to 3 tsps
Mix well
Cover and cook till the chicken is 3/4th cooked
Add the soaked rice (water drained)
Juice of 1/2 a lemon
Let it boil on medium high heat until the 3/4th of water is absorbed
Ghee – 2 tbsp
Cover and cook (dum) for 20 mins on low heat (simmer)
Turn off the heat and let it sit for 5 more minutes before breaking the dum
Enjoy the biryani with Dalcha and Raitha 🤗
