We will discuss several options in this video for the Napoleon gas grill in the rogue series. Napoleon has a launched a whole new product line with many improvements that will help with performance, cosmetics, and cost. We will go over the differences between the models. The first in the series it the standard ROGUE model. This grill is available in Black only and cannot be ordered in Stainless steel. Also in the base grade model, is only available in propane. It is a 3 burner, 4 burner, and 5 burner. 325, 425, 525 series. When you upgrade to the XT model you get some extra choices. First off you can order this unit in propane or natural gas options. The second feature is you can also order this grill in Stainless steel or a porcelain black finish. Also when you upgrade to the XT model, you get the option of a 5 burner if desired. Bringing the size models to 325, 425, 525, and 625 models. Also the hood on the lid is slightly taller. The taller lid really doesn’t do anything for performance just a cosmetic difference in the grill. Another benefit to the XT is larger side shelves. This is for sure a nice feature because it allows for more space on the grill for prep areas, etc. But perhaps the most important upgrade that the XT model offers is going to be the infrared side burner. Make no mistake about it, this is no ordinary side burner. If your not familiar with infrared technology. You need to be. This allows for 1800 degrees of cooking. Most people say they would never use a side burner. But they haven’t tried one like this. The biggest benefit to this is going to be the ability to sear. You can cook a steak in under 5 minutes. So it is for sure worth the upgrade!
Now lets get to the nicest model in the group and that is the SE model which stands for special edition. The SE model comes with all the options that the XT has, however one of the best feature upgrades it gets, is lit up knobs. On top of this feature the cooking grates are also upgraded to Stainless steel instead of cast iron which is a nice option. Lastly the pedestal is a little more robust as well. It comes with a bottle opener, and a condiment tray all built into the grill as well.
So there you have it, in review here is what it comes with.
Base Grade Rogue- Cast iron cook plates, no side burner and only available in black and propane.
Rogue XT- You get the option here for stainless steel, a taller hood, and can order in natural gas.
the Rogue SE Comes with lit up knobs and stainless cook grates.
Hope you enjoyed the video!

They do make the rogue natural gas without the side burner to..i bought a rogue standar 4 burner natural gas no side burners ..
Can you fold the shelf where the burner is to reduce storage space?
Excellent. Been wondering what to get for lowest cost side burner! What about rotisserie and smoker trays ?
If youre just interested in grilling some burgers, steaks and sausages for 2-3 people on a daily basis would you go with a Rogue 365 or a Freestyle 425? The 365 Rogue is a lot cheaper than a Rogue 425 – not sure if the extra burner is worth it for me..
Hi
Are the retractable shelves in all of them or no?🧐
have my eyes on a rogue xt @ lowes in stainless steel , my main concern is the rust factor , is this a rust free grill ? i have an older nexgrill that sat out in the elements close to 8 years and no rust , i really want to know if the rogue xt offers that durability . also which is also better the black finish or stainless ? thank you kindly
I hope Napoleon's marketing team sends a paycheck at some point because you've made researching their product lines SO much easier to understand than anywhere else I've looked. Appreciate the content you create!
I picked up a R425 and a propane to natural gas conversion and hose kit…..works great, tested and metered…no leaks.😁
Bummer , here in Canada not all XTs come with infrared burner. Awww!
There's acutly a rogue 425(base model) in ss and with natural gas in canada now.
Hi and greetings from Sweden 🇸🇪
Thanks again for your help. You guys are the best in the opinion and advices when it comes to grill 🙂
I have a dilema. Weber 425s or Napoleon 525se ? Which one do you recommend ? Both are the same price here in Sweden.

whats the difference between Legend LD3 and Rogue-XT 425?
What is the exact model on the right please?
Maybe it's changed since this was filmed but you can get XT versions without side burners (which is good as I don't need it).
3 years after purchase, Numerous parts are failing on my Napoleon which indicates lack of quality:
The black inscriptions indicating which burner is controlled by which knob is rubbing off everywhere, electrical outlets in back no longer have spring closure (broke), the plastic rings on the burner controls are cracking, the temp gauge reads 200deg F even when its 40 deg outside.
I contacted Napoleon directly to ascertain warranty coverage…2018 models had Lifetime Bumper-to Bumper Warranty which covers some things indefinitely, some things for 15 yrs and many parts for 2 years. As a COURTESY they would supply me with new decals to place on the grill (cant wait to see how that looks), and the rest of the parts would be at a discounted price! I expressed my dismay that an allegedly premium product with a premium price point would want to charge their customer ~ $100….this amount is miniscule compared with the $3500 I paid for the grill and accessories… This $ 100 is not generating any real revenue for them but is generating a lot of bad will for the customer. Napoleon's representative Kat did not care.
I would definitely consider purchasing a grill from another manufacturer. At this price point, customer service and standing behind the product is imperative; sadly Napoleon has not figured that out.
Easy to use and effective
Awesome review. Do infrared burner requires electricity?
Hey Trevor, how do the new rear IR burners compare to the traditional rear ceramic IR burners? Do all 3 models use the same slimmer rear IR burner?
Really excellent video, spoiled my life as I so want lit up dials and I cant justify the money lol
I really like the look of the RSE425 version in the UK. We use 13kg propane bottles here and I think they are too tall to put inside the cabinet. Can the hose be run external to the BBQ? Is there a hole at all?
Rogue SE FOR 1499 dollars Canadian. Can we upgrade the knobs to new safety knobs that change colour?
Can you explain why all Stainless steel models are more expensive than black colour models? What colour you would recommend or its just a matter of preference?
I have a Rogue XT, and mine only came with a normal side burner, not the infrared burner
Can’t decide between the rouge xt sib or the prestige 500. Is the prestige worth the price increase?
Great summary at 7:00
Can I put a flat top griddle on the Napoleon Rogue Natural Gas Grill. Thank you great video
Nice review, I appreciate this 😉
Rogue Xt/Se needs a propane tank sliding drawer, an LED knob upgrade option, and the ability to flip the warming rack up to save realestate. The IR burner is awesome. Note: you cant fold the IR burner shelf down when it is hooked to propane tank hose.
Thank you so much for the break down. I found a Napoleon rse425sbnss in Canada at my local store for 799 cad. Is that a good buy? I couldn't find the model on the Napoleon website so im thinking it's discontinued?. I would really like your feedback on that model.
Happy grilling!!
Hi Ember and thanks for your great videos. I live in Denmark and here the prestige pro 500 costs two and a half times as much as the New rogue 525 SE. I do not suppose that price difference matches the difference in quality? Best regards Carsten
I bought the Rogue Xt 2 burner with the infrared burner. I put it together today and did chicken thighs: I did 2 on the side IF burner, about a minute each side then cooked along with the others. I did indirect heat on a 2 burner for about 35-40 minutes, couldn't find my digi thermom so just had to eyeball it. They both turned out great. That side burner heats up fast. Love it.
Based on your review of the various Napoleon grills, we just bought a Rogue XT 525 at our local Lowes…on sale for $699! They are putting it together AND delivering it for free…so it will be here on Friday! Can't wait to try this bad boy out! We were absolutely planning to get a Weber, but after doing some research, watching your reviews, etc….it was obvious that the Napoleon was the way to go. Many thanks! Stop by for burgers and ribs anytime! 🙂
On the Rogue SE 525, is the temperature of the infra-red side burner variable? In other words, can it be turned low so I can slow boil a pot of stew or sauté vegetables? Thank you in advance.
Napoleon's website shows the base rogue as available in natural gas and I actually ordered a rogue 425 today in natural gas from one of my local retailers.
Lowe's is doing an exclusive on an XT525, in stainless, with a smoker firebox….$699.
The Napoleon quality is not up to the Weber Genesis line. I check both of them out at my local store and the nod goes to Weber. Unsure which one of the grills cooks the best.
Quick question, is the base model rogue manufactured in China or Canada?
Just watched your excellent video on Napoleon grills. Im really interested to understand which is better _ cast iron or Stainless steel for the grills, and why?
Do you know the dimensions of the rogue xt side burner? Trying to decide if its big enough because it looks kind of small in pictures and videos. Steaks can be pretty wide sometimes.
Does the shelf with the side burner also fold down or is it fixed?
The Rogue 325 in your description should be 365 right? I don't seems to find any 325 models in Napoleon's website.
Thank you for this !
4:46 the 3 burner in the Picture is a 425 se because it hat a knob for the back burner, not the 425 xt
I couldn't have said it better myself!
Thanks for the video. I decided to watch the video again and read the comments.. seeing that you're recommending the prestige over the SE has got me rethinking my choice
Thanks for this! What are your thoughts on the Rogue XT 425 vs Weber Genesis E-330? Will add that I found a deal near me that's including stainless steel grates with the XT 425 at no extra cost.
How's the Rouge SE compare with the Prestige? It seems they overlapped the features?
Excellent video! This was a great breakdown of the lineup
