  1. The wheat has been processed and stripped of it’s goodness and has oxidized too much so the good hearty wheat flavor is not even the same. Not to mention all the additives they put back in to try and replace what has been milled out. Hence the bitter stale taste.

  2. I think the weird thing with this category is that most people buy whole wheat bread or brands like Sara Lee in order to regulate their food consumption (whole wheat for more fiber and Sara Lee is a brand known for lower calorie products). Ranking the densest bread highest begs the question: why not just buy yummy white bread? That’s not that much fiber even in whole wheat bread. It’s like testing full fat whipped cream vs low fat whipped cream and saying full fat is the Best Buy. Of course it tastes yummier, but nobody buying low fat anything is doing so because it tastes better.

  3. Pepperidge Farm makes another whole wheat bread branded as “Whole Grain”. I greatly prefer it to the Farmhouse line, which I find too soft. And the Whole Grain brand has a top that’s similar to the Arnold’s line that was top choice in this video.

  4. Only just saw this today. And you and others probably know by now but there is a big difference between whole-grain and whole wheat. Whole grain is the healthier more substantial option. Whole wheat is just garbage across the board.

  5. Private Selection™ 100% Whole Wheat Sliced Wide Pan Bread from Kroger or Ralph's is my favorite. At $1.99 for 1.5 pounds, it is also a great value. I found it after Arnold discontinued their Dutch Country whole wheat bread, which was really good, although very dense.

  6. if you already have a video out of this, ignore, but I personally would LOVE a video on how to properly store, freeze & thaw different types of bread (ie traditional cut loafs of bread vs baguette etc), just a suggestion
