    Hot sauce is big (evil) bizness.
     Hot sauces making me MAD.

        In th70's i used 7 – 11 drops Tobasco on hot dog. Now thcompanies figured out if sauce  labeled HOT when actually mild, customers use20 times amount.

       &Wheres the SHU police? 

         My Franks Xtra Hot labeled same heat as Tobasco I use a tspn = 120 drops iits still not enough.

  6. I always use Frank's Red Hot when I make wings, because that's the flavor I'm expecting when I eat them.

    But I always use Tabasco for everything else including just keeping on the table because it has, by far, the best flavor. Not just heat but delicious flavor.

  12. have about 30 different sauces I like all of them but yeah they switch Tabasco with Cholula! and cholula is the most adaptable of the 3 Franks mostly Chicken Wings Tabasco has a strange aftertaste too much vinegar its good but more limited..

  17. Look, I love ATK.I have been following them on PBS for yeeeeeaars. I trust their knowledge. But this is not the way you test a condiment. Frank's Red Hot is delicious, but you don't put it on Mexican food. You put it on things you want to taste like Frank's Red Hot. It is far too overpowering for most things. Cholula is a perfect hot sauce to add sharpness, a little heat, and some vinegar brightness — but that's why it's not that great on its own! It is adding to the flavor of the food. It has a particular profile and it doesn't work on everything.

    This same argument is true for wine as well. Do you want to treat the wine like the most important thing at the table, or do you want to have it pair in order to bring out the flavors of the food and improve the flavor of the wine? If it's the later, you might be surprised at how well a slightly grassy sauvignon blanc that is nothing to write home about sits in with grilled pork or buttery potatoes. I'm not breaking out the Latour for simple fair, nor am I opening a big, fat, jammy, $40 Zin.

    Frank's Red Hot is not "the best" hot sauce. It's the one that tasted the best not on food.

  21. Watching these makes me realize my tastes are different than everyone else's. i prefer Cholula over Franks. Texas Pete over Tabasco. But my favorite hot sauce is made by a friend and it's much hotter than these.
