So here is the Outdoor Central 3-in-1 Charcoal Smoker. It can grill, it can roast and it can smoke.

It is the perfect, little unit for those people who want to get started on meat smoking, grilling and roasting over charcoal.

It holds its temperature very well, has double doors so you can access your charcoal and top that up as you go. You can access your water bowl quite easily to keep that moisture in the unit to help regulate temperature.

Simply, just open up these doors then throw your charcoal in and then shut your door back up. If you need to top up your water during the cook, simply just pour it in to there and away you go.

It comes with a thermometer and it has an air vent as well to control your temperature. It comes with cool touch handles so it’s very easy to maneuver the smoker around when you finish your cook.

It has collapsible sections so if you wanted to grill, all you do is take off the top two sections, remove your water pan and then you have a grilling rack here you just sit it at the top of this section and it can grill straight over your charcoal.

Now the other fantastic feature of this particular smoker that other smokers don’t have, in this particular price range, is that it actually locks into itself. There are a couple of little grooves around the edge of the smoker, so all you do is just line up those grooves and you turn it around and you can actually pick up the smoker as one whole unit. There are numbers of smokers out there in the market that don’t have that feature.

The unit stands about 80cm high and has a diameter of about 40cm. So when your cooking on it you can probably fit a couple of chickens on there, a good-sized pork shoulder, a few steaks and because it has the two cooking levels you can use to double that cook as well. It’s also a great smoker if you want to cold smoke things like fish and small goods such as salami and kabana and things like that.

The Outdoor Central 3-in-1 Charcoal Smoker is a great little unit to get you started on the way to smoking barbeque meats. It’s fantastic value for money, comes with a 12-month warranty and you can pick one up at BBQ Spit Rotisseries today.

Here are a few cooks we’ve done on this unit to get your taste buds going.

  2. This smoker is decent for everything except temperature control. You need to be able to control the air going into the charcoals, you don't use the exhaust vent for temperature control. I don't know why they bother putting a vent control on exhaust vents, nobody uses them, you need a way to control the air at the bottom which this unit has no way to do.

So it works and is fine for your first couple tries but you'll be frustrated at the temperature control or lack thereof. I'd spend a few more dollars and get one that has lower vent dampers.

  3. i bought the very same through Kogan… now Bunnings are selling it under the jumbuck brand…. I cant seem to get heat up to the meat, the bottom section is red hot but not much goes past the water bowl… I am thinking the water bowl is too wide as it only has about 2cm gap around it and I have noticed on the more expensive units they all have air vents underneath…. do I nee to drill holes or put in a smaller water bowl?
