The wood part is good but the gas part is extremely dangerous. If you open the lid or shut it too quick the fire goes out. Since it doesn't have cross fire to keep all 3 burners lit eventually they all go out and if you push the ignite button again BOOM. I live in an area with a little wind not a lot. Also the gas burner split and it took 6 months to get another burner. They really need to fix the cross fire to keep all 3 burners lit in case 1 or 2 goes out due to wind or opening and closing the lid. I ended up taking mine back because 6 months to get a burner is way too long. The smoker is ok though. No issues there.
Here are a couple of tips that make assembly slightly easier https://www.youtube.com/post/UgkxCx5fHawkK9OoV-ojFrY8JLnZrFwAmvUt . 1) One person can assemble, but if you have a buddy to help, it will make it go faster – especially steps 1-3 and 8 (the legs aren't heavy but can be difficult to hold while screwing things in). Step 8, 1st part will take some time unless you have two more hands OR are really lucky. 2) Use a socket wrench! 3) Step 7, 3rd part – the flame carry over tube has an open side, MAKE SURE THE OPEN SIDE IS FACING THE FRONT. If it's facing the back, the tube won't work. 4) Step 10, 3rd part – if you don't have small hands (I don't, they're gigantic) getting the nut on is really difficult (but not impossible). It took me about 4 hours to assemble, but I took a "union break" every 60-90 minutes and ate a quick lunch. Also, I'm really OCD so I took my time, looked at the instructions carefully, and cleaned up as I went.
Looks great but the newer pid and the new app has big issues. Mine has been difficult to get a decent cook. The advertised features would be awesome if they worked. Make sure you have a separate probe on the grill. My pid temp reads 60 degrees higher then the actual grill temperature hence my first brisket was 24 hours before I actually installed the grill probe (Weber) and realized the pid temperature probe was un calibrated.Pit boss sent me a new probe but it’s the same,, so now we will see. Next pet peeve is the lack of adjustability of the temperature. Especially over 300. The pid should be able to adjust in at least 5 degree increments through the entire range. And lastly,, the newest app finally connects and I haven’t had to sign in all the time,, BUT who wrote the code! If you smoke you know a low and slow brisket temperature is 225.. try to get the app to do 225 mine automatically changes it to 230?? What! If I had more temperature adjustments I wouldn’t really care I’d adjust according to a calibrated grill probe. I like the grill side but I really bought it for the smoker . Maybe pit boss will work it out but if I had to do it again I’d spend the money on something else.
What are the dimensions of each chamber? Is it half of the cooking size listed in the manual?
I have the pro 1100 combo with WiFi. I cannot get a decent smoke from it. Does not have a dedicated "P" setting. Lowest temp available is 200.
What can be done to get a continuous smoke.
He needs a bigger spatula…lol
Smoking ribs on mine right now
not a great overview tbh, still confused 😂
When you checked the temps of your meat, could you have not just plugged your probe into the meat through the door? Curious as to why you went through the sidewall like that, seems pointless to me, but maybe you have a reason for it?
Nice grill. Fake promo.
Should the char broil element be removed when smoking ?
I’m afraid the gas grill side will cook like the cheap grills where the flame 🔥 shoots high due to the grease build up on the burners and it ends up charring your burgers. Would be nice if they come out with the infrared grill verses the “standard”
I Don't see the Overview part in this video all what he talked about is the cooked food , it will be helpful to show how it works and go over some of the pacification for this grill
This doesnt really show detailed features.
What is the pressure regulator pressure rating?
I don’t have social media, but my pro series vertical smoker came without a knob for the pellet removal door. I registered my smoker and created a support case a couple weeks ago with no response. The company gives no other means of contact on there website than social media which i refrain from using. It’s hard to give a positive review if you can’t use the product.
someday when i get rich……………
Is this grill made in the USA?
Does this model come with a griddle for the gas side?
