PEPPER STEAK | recipe Chinese style



1 lb sirloin tip steak Thinly sliced
2 tbsp light soy sauce
2 tbsp dark soy sauce
1 egg white
1 tbsp mushroom seasoning ( optional)
1/2 tsp white pepper
2 tbsp cornstarch

sauce

2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp Hoisin sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp cornstarch mixed in 1/3 cup water
2 tbsp brown sugar

Chopped bell peppers as much as you like
Chopped onions as much as you like
1 1/2 tbsp minced garlic
1 1/2 tbsp grated ginger
1/2 tsp black pepper

  1. I couldn't find the mushroom sauce you described, but did the recipe as described. It was absolutely wonderful. Not going to lie… It took 3 attempts before it was perfect. The first time I overcooked the beef. The second time I made the veggies too soft. Third time was a charm. I can make a batch of this for 6 cheaper than I can get 2 from the cheapest Chinese Restaurant in town. And theirs is remarkably bland and rhe sauce is not as good. Thank you so much for posting this. It will be done at least once a month as we all love it and it's not a lot of work and can be made for cheap as long as one has the patience to overcome trying to rush or skip crucial steps. Beef first, veggies second then add together and blend until done. Very straight forward. I just subscribed and will be trying more of your recipes.
