Quick & Easy Fridge Clean-Out Stir-Fry!
This is a super easy recipe you can make with whatever veggies
you have left in the fridge when you need a quick snack.
My wife and kids absolutely love this dish!
Instructions
1. Prep and Sauce
1. First, prepare your favorite sausages. Soak them briefly in warm water to neutralize some of the salt and grease, then score the sausages with a knife.
2. Next, make the sauce: combine your ketchup, Tonkatsu sauce, corn syrup, oyster sauce, and one dried chili.
3. Important: If you have it, add some jalapeño for extra flavor. Always give the sauce a quick taste to check the balance!
2. Sauté and Sear
1. Add oil to a pan and sauté the onion. I had bell peppers in the fridge, so I threw those in too.
2. Once the vegetables are cooked, take them out and let them rest for a moment.
3. Sear the scored sausages until they develop a nice Maillard reaction (good browning).
3. Glaze and Finish
1. Pour the sauce over the sausages. Add a little water—don’t worry about the exact amount, as it will all cook down and evaporate.
2. Once the sauce starts to boil and thicken, add a little spicy chili powder for heat.
3. Finally, toss in the cooked vegetables to combine.
The flavor is absolutely perfect for a relaxing evening drink!
