When using charcoal only does the fan regulate the temp like a spider venom?
I have this smoker/grill. I am really disappointed in it. I was hoping it would be the hybrid of smoker and grill. Doesnt get hot enough or even evenly distribute heat to run solely off of pellets. It smokes decently but I really purchased this thing to sear a steak and grill burgers without any real setting up of fuels minus loading the hopper. Prior to this I was using my xl pro and opening the sear. This way with this hybrid I wouldnt have too much wear and tear or cleaning efforts on my big pellet smoker unless I was doing long smokes. The thing this does well is cleans up. Plastic razorblade is the way for goopy char mess at the bottom and a quick clean out. That charcoal rack is impossible to clean though short of heat and a pressure washer. Anything drops into the charcoal rack and it will not come clean. honey glaze and brownsugar ruined mine.
Tom are you letting the cooker light the coals?
Hey Tom, I’ve been looking at the Rec Tec Bullseye for things like burgers, steaks, dogs, chicken and I’m wondering how this compares. Would it be good for hot and fast?
I saw this at Walmart over the weekend… seems pretty robust..l that lid is heavier than expected
Great video Tom!
Hey Tom! My Kind of Set up! 👍 I need to get that charcoal pan and put it in my Bullseye.
A question on the ash removal on this??? Thanks Tom…..You find the coolest stuff! 🔥/
Will a Weber kettle rotisserie fit??
Love the ingenuity and looking forward to more!
Nice work
Damn Tom, you have more pits than the man in the moon in your garage. How about a video on some of your top picks for charcoal, pellets, gas & maybe your overall thoughts about the price vs performance. Keep up the great videos and hell when are you having your next garage sale.
So basically i can still use my chimney to start the charcoal, and have it feeding pellets at the same time. Perfect!
Tom, you're such a rebel. Throwing the manual away! Ha! I'd guess the over/under for mods at 4. Although it didn't require a hardware change, we're already at 1.
Tom so far that grill seems to be a ok!!! Time and more cooks will tell for sure!
Very interesting, and the roast looked great
Nice grill, was thinking of a gravity series but I’m kinda leaning more towards this grill, is it possible to smoke a drunk chicken on this with the chicken stand? I had an older pit boss Lexington and I couldn’t smoke one due to it not fitting height wise . Thanks Tom !
Love the idea of using both methods
lol throwing it away👍👍 RIP owners manual 😂
I wish this had been out last year. It's got a grease drain, something the Rec-Teq Bullseye is sadly lacking.
Nice video Tom. Thanks for the support and for using our products 🇺🇲
I can see a mod for a probe port.
Thanks Tom, I am really interested in this grill. Do you think it might’ve been better to have the vents on the top opposite of the charcoal so that it pulled over top of it neat? Just asking.
Wow! Ownely the Land of grirls could be make fun cook that turns out AWESOME!
I like that idea! It would be nice to see a long cook with that set up.
Looks pretty good Tom! Seems like it does well, hopefully more to come. Cheers 🍻
would like to see more cooks like this sir
